"LOVE" quilt - these blocks came as a BIG BIG surprise from my Wee Bee Canadian quilting group. I had quilting a scalloped border in the white border edging - and throughout the quilt there are hearts ... it's my snuggly blankie for the living room.
Mother-in-Law's quilt - again - with a little help from my quilting group I thought the bright colors would look amazing in her living room. It turned out better than I could every have expected!!
The "20 year quilt" - insp
ired by a rather challenging patter form Moda - I finally got Hub's quilt made. A whole lot of hours of hiding this went perfectly.
Downtown Abbey inspired! The fabrics are all from their line of fabrics. I wanted something to go with the DVD boxed set of their series. My mom and I planned this quilt well! :) To hide all the mistakes - I hand tied with black wool the center points that didn't really lineup :) What a nice cheat! :)
Green string quilt - Thanks to many Bee mates for helping make these blocks! I LOVE THEM!!!
Superman Quilt for Jamie - Hub's friend form work. Made with misc. Superman Prints - and paired up with some solid Kona fabrics (love to work with those!) - The quilting was done with simple squares - and in bright shinny yellow and red thread - It looks really cool! Hand done binding with no borders
Domestic Stripping - made with Domestic Bliss - Jelly roll paired with some solid Kona fabric. I paired this with a simple solid border and scrappy binding (by hand as well). The quilting on this one was done in diagonal strips - with masking tape as my guide - not the best idea doing a WHOLE top in the tape - must remember to do it in halves next time.
Twisted Tea Time - made with Basic Grey- Hello Luscious - Jelly Strip - this was some logistic mess to make! but, turned out so pretty! The quilting is done to focus on the squares/diamond in the pattern. I really really love how this turned out.
Christmas Table Runner - for MIL - made from Basic Grey - Figgy Pudding - using the extra squares I made for the first few months - LOVE this too!! Sooo pretty!
My niece's Christmas Quilt - made from fat quarters - misc BRIGHT fabric I bought in Haines, Alaska - many many years ago. I was too chicken to actually cut the fabric - I do believe the pattern used here is Turning Sixteen .... kinda fitting. The size is about queen size
Ziggy's Blankie - lap sized - using the manly prints from Honky Dorry ... I LOVE how this turned out. I hand quilting in the ditch to highlight the rows. Ziggy LOVED it!!! - I made him a girlie apron to matchout of the female fabrics :P
"O"'s first quilt - she was in the hospital, and I thought she needed something to cheer her up. So, I found this lovely fabric in Victoria earlier that year - one of my most favorite lines .... so, here she got a lovely lap blankie. This was one was hand quilted as well.
Mom's blankie ... using of some of favorite flannel fabrics - she picked out some of these as well. I used an easy strip piecing with this - and then highlighted the diamonds the patterns made with some more hand quilting. I loved working on this one - sooo cuddly and cheery!
Lovie's blankie - my neice helped sew this wee dog bed for her dog. She helped by using the sewing machine ... it turned out so nice! (and gets used!!)
Basic Grey - Origins - my dad's present - he will get this one day - Honestly!!! It's waiting to be quilted - And I think to make this go "faster" I'll be hand quilting it.
"S" quilt - for a dear friend going through cancer treatment ... this was sooo nice to make!! I machine quilted this one - to save me some time. And it turned out sooooo nice!!! Depending on how you look at this, depends on what the "pattern" might be. I highlighted the diamonds - I though it gave the quilt some more dimension.
Not "my" creation - but my favorite completed project to date!! The quilting is done in various 1/2 circles throughout the whole top. This sits in my favorite spot in the house - and is used every day! I LOVE IT!
Table Runner - from 3 of the Log Cabin squares the Quilting Bee ladies made me ... I did diagnol straight quilting ... Not really the effect I wanted when I look at it done - but it is sure pretty.
The runner lives at work - on my desk - and everyone seems to stop and look at it. I think it's because my work space is so offensively pink - but I LOVE IT!
